Visit to Tai Ahom Museum and the Maidams (Mummy like structures) of Ahom kings Burial grounds at Charaideo. In the afternoon drive to Jorhat. The “Tea Capital of the World” On arrival check into the hotel and overnight stay
Thengal Mansion, a historic ancestral house of a Tea Planter amidst an Asssamese village, 15 kms from Jorhat. The 72-year old Thangal Mansion is to answer the queries on Assamese culture and tradition. After lunch and rest, take a walk in a nearby village to see the simplicity of their lives.
After early breakfast we proceed for Majuli. Vaishnava Satras was founded by Sankardeva, the father of Assamese culture. Have enroute Lunch. Places of tourist interest near by. Back to dinner and overnight stay at Jorhat
After an early morning breakfast drive to Shillong (350 kms). Have Lunch en-route at Borapani Umiam Lake, a majestic placid lake with its surrounding sylvan hills. On arrival check into the hotel. Take a Guided tour of the palace. Overnight at Shillong.
Morning sightseeing at Shillong, admire the beauty of Shillong also called Scotland of the East. It is erstwhile capital of undivided Assam; present North-East and home to the Khasi Highland tribes. Visit Elephanta falls, Ward lake, Hydari Park and Shillong peak for some breathtaking views. Overnight at Shillong.
After breakfast drive to Guwahati (100 kms. Explore Guwahati, the gateway city to North-east of India. Evening spend on a river cruise to watch the sun go down the river and see yourself why the river is locally called ‘Luit’- colour of blood. Overnight at Guwahati.
